... of my gallivantations (yes, it's a word now) in the snow yesterday, I now have a cold.
Super.

雪はとてもきれいです!
It appears I was a tad hasty in my posting earlier today - I've since been out walking again, and have taken more photos of the snow. This time I visited some temples between my house and the train station. It's odd, I've been living in this house since June last year, but didn't actually visit these temples until December when Anita and Espie stayed, despite passing them every day. I guess when you're in your own neighbourhood you switch from being a tourist to just living.

I have a fascination with bridges. I realised this a couple of weeks ago when, at a small park I'd ridden to up the Edogawa, I took off my headphones just to listen to the sound of my shoes walking across.
Maybe I'm a little too easily impressed with snow (not surprising, not like we get a lot on the Gold Coast), but there's something beautiful even in tire tracks in the snow.
Real snowmen
This one even has a carrot for it's nose! Gee Mr Snowman, try developing your own look and personality, rather than adhering to the socially accepted norms of this patriarchal society blah blah blah blah blah.
Me all rugged up! Toasty warm - I even have earmuffs on underneath the hood.
More strange food from Japan. Genghis Khan is a popular lamb dish, famous in Hokkaido. I really wanted to have some when I was there, but didn't get a chance to. Well, wasn't I lucky to find Genghis Khan caramels at my local supermarket. So naturally I bought a packet. There's a distinct taste of onions about them. You can buy these caramels for quite a number of locations around Japan. There's a Hokkaido butter flavour caramel, a melon flavoured caramel (for a town in the north of Japan that went bankrupt because they got a little excited about their famous melons, and created a melon-themed theme park), and Sapporo has a beer flavoured caramel. Tastes like beer, isn't very nice.

... and if the snow buries my, my neighbourhood.
It's snowing in Tokyo today! Went for a walk outside half an hour ago to take photos.

I took this photo of snow on the ground (exciting, ne?):
and then pressed something in my photo program and it did this:
