In a week when there was a sensible issue on which to attack Julia Gillard (or more sensible, if you like) Bill Heffernan goes for this. Well done the coalition!

what does the Z stand for in ZOMG? that confuses me for the second time this week...

teehee I like your idea Ben :P

Chris - really, given Heffernan's track record, did we expect a SENSIBLE attack?

I think the most common theory is that the Z got pre-pended to OMG by people not hitting the shift key cleanly when trying to type OMG. Then it took on a life of its own as some way of poking fun at people who write OMG all the time, and now it seems that many people don't even use it sarcastically, it's just a variant of OMG.

The other week, I heard someone actually pronounce 'ZOMG'.

Anita, my exposure to television advertising suggests two paths - either Dodo, Dodo, Internet that flies, or, if you go with Telstra, you can learn that the Great Wall of China was built to keep the rabbits out. Too many rabbits, in China.

Bill's comments on Gillard overshadowed the more amusing quote:

Senator Heffernan had also repeated his observation that priests should be allowed to marry because they, "like the rest of us, wake up with a horn at four in the morning".

Especially the last bit. I've never heard of this Bill Heffernan but he sounds like a level-headed fellow.

I'm not going to go with dodo because of their catch-tune. I'm not going to go with Telstra in case they actually used that statement as an advertisement. (Does that meant that the rabbit-proof fenct was built to keep the Huns out of the eastern half of Austrlia?)

I am in fact going with UQConnect. They have half price connection for UQ Alumni.

And you may notice that, while I held the shift down for the Z, I neglected to try for the rest of it. And I was using it sarcastically.

Anita, if you're not familiar with the Telstra Bigpond ad I'm referring to, there's a good description here.
