The only consolation for this is the prospect of John Howard crashing and burning in the upcoming election, which is looking increasingly likely every day/leadership squabble. (Thanks to Chris for the heads-up. And for the awesome postcard.)

Don't count Rudd's chickens too soon, as I have been doing on my blog.
Take solace in the fact that almost all member of the newly formed 'team' want to end the unnecessary discrimination against homosexuals.
If it were put to a conscience vote a la RU486 there is no doubts in my mind that it would easily get through both houses.
In today's Australia it seems increasingly ridiculous and arbitrary to label the advocacy of small government, low taxes, private enterprise and immigration control as 'heterosexual'.
On a related note the political death of Tony Abbott will be the absolute sweetest part of the upcoming election.

And I would just like to say that it is also becoming increasingly ridiculous and farcical to label the advocacy of small government, low taxes and Workplace deregulation as 'big L Liberal'.
